Hurricane Season is Here – Stay Safe & Follow Waste Guidelines
As we enter peak hurricane season, your safety is our top priority. Please review the following waste collection guidelines to help us serve you efficiently after a storm:
🗑️ First Week After the Storm
- Priority Collection: We focus on removing perishable waste (e.g., spoiled food) due to power outages.
- Regular Trash Pickup: Resumes as conditions allow.
- Lawn Waste: Temporarily suspended during the emergency phase.
🌿 After the Emergency Phase
- Grass Clippings: Use clear or brown paper bags (recommended, not required).
- Household Trash: Use white bags (recommended, not required).
- Important: Keep all bags separate from storm debris. (recommended to be in black bags)
🌳 What Counts as Storm Debris?
Storm debris includes materials from hurricanes, floods, or windstorms, such as:
- Fallen trees, branches, and leaves
- Damaged fences, roofing, or water-damaged household items
🚧 How to Prepare Storm Debris
- Place storm debris at the curb, separate from regular trash.
- Refer to the diagram (see picture) for proper placement.

- Storm debris and construction/remodeling waste are not included in standard trash service.

Hurricane Beryl Storm Debris Collection – UPDATE
Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 96 (“HCWCID 96”) has contracted with Best Trash to provide Hurricane Beryl-related storm debris collection service to the residents of HCWCID 96.
Best Trash will perform additional storm debris collection on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Please place all storm debris curbside for collection. Storm debris is waste generated as a result of Hurricane Beryl, including damaged or blown-down fencing, and excludes items normally collected on heavy trash/bulk trash collection days.

Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 96 – Hurricane Beryl Storm Debris Collection
Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 96 (“HCWCID 96”) has contracted with Best Trash to provide Hurricane Beryl-related storm debris collection service to the residents of HCWCID 96.
Best Trash will commence storm debris collection tomorrow, Friday, July 26, using rear loading trucks and grapple trucks. Due to the large amount of storm debris, collection will take several days. Please place all storm debris curbside for collection. Storm debris is waste generated as a result of Hurricane Beryl, including damaged or blown-down fencing, and excludes items normally collected on heavy trash/bulk trash collection days. No Garbage Collection New Year’s Day
There will be no garbage collection service this Saturday, January 1.
Garbage collection service will resume on the next regular scheduled collection day which is Wednesday, January 5.
